Position Summary and Key Responsibilities

4W is the surgical inpatient unit that has the capability to monitor all 18 beds with cardiac telemetry. Nurses who choose to practice in this unit are specially trained to provide care to patients requiring close monitoring of flap reconstructions. Care provided on 4W includes:

  • Pre- and post surgical care to adult patients of general oncologic surgery, gynecologic surgery, neurosurgery, plastic and reconstructive surgery, urology and bone marrow donors
  • Pain management
  • Hydration therapy
  • Transfusion therapy
  • Infection management
  • Terminal and palliative care
  • Management of the side effects of disease or treatment

Minimum Education and Skills Required for Consideration:

†BSN (Bachelors in Nursing) required.

â€2 plus years of recent clinical RN experience in Medical Oncology/Telemetry preferred.

†Current California RN License.

†Current American Heart Association BLS & ACLS required.

†CCRN preferred. OCN preferred.
