A Staff Scientist position is available in at City of Hope, one of a prestigious group of NCI-designated Comprehensive Cancer Centers.
The successful candidate will join a highly competitive research lab to investigate molecular mechanisms underlying transcriptional control and cell signaling during the course of cancer initiation and progression. Specifically, the candidate will use “cutting-edge” and unbiased in vitro biological approaches and unique and innovative genetically-engineered mouse models to uncover gene-expression and genomic and epigenetic alterations that regulate oncogenic transformation and other cellular events in tumorigenesis.
This Staff Scientist position is designed for career research professionals who have extensive research experience, skills, and analytic ability to lead sophisticated research projects that are carried out in the PI’s lab. Candidates should also have a proven track record of creativity and productivity, as well as previous experience in designing and perform daily experiments with GEM models. Individuals appointed as staff scientists will receive a one-year fixed-term contract.
Minimum Education and Skills Required for Consideration:
- This Staff Scientist must possess, at a minimum, the U.S. equivalent Ph.D. or other doctoral level degree in the field of Cancer Biology, Molecular Biology, Genetics, Biochemistry, or Cell Biology. Candidates should be highly self-motivated, strong desire to learn, and have excellent communication skills.
