The Beckman Research Institute of City of Hope is looking for exceptional Postdoctoral Fellows for translational research projects utilizing a non-nuclease genome editing platform. Exciting cutting-edge projects will focus on studying mechanisms of action, approaches to defining genomic, structural and functional characteristics of novel genetic vectors, novel therapeutic strategies and validation in in-vivo models of human disease. Experience with homologous recombination, chromatin immunoprecipitation, protein-protein and protein-DNA interactions, next generation sequencing, computational analyses, cell culture models and in-vivo models is desirable. A strong background in molecular virology and biology is helpful. Motivated, industrious, rigorous, independent yet collaborative individuals with outstanding communication skills will be ideally suited for these positions.
- Design and execute experiments within project
- Take responsibility for different aspects of assigned project
- Analyze data and present results
- Interface collaboratively with other lab members
- Experimental work includes some or all the following: molecular biology, PCR, cloning, sequencing, RNA and DNA analysis, tissue culture, primary cell culture, in vivo imaging, in vivo disease models.
Basic education, experience and skills required for consideration:
- A Ph.D. degree in life or biomedical sciences, or a related discipline is required.
- Strong background in molecular biology is required.
- Experience with molecular virology, bioinformatics and genetics is desirable.
