Job Title: Postdoctoral Fellow

Position Summary and Key Responsibilities:

The Beckman Research Institute of City of Hope is looking for a talented Postdoctoral Fellow in cancer epidemiology. The postdoctoral fellow will participate in the planning, designing, and data analysis of complex population-based research projects under the direction of Sophia Wang, PhD. The postdoctoral fellow will be expected to analyze both questionnaire and laboratory-based research data; identify and propose new research projects and write grants; both within the Division and through collaborative research projects that include outside investigators; and publish scientific findings in peer-reviewed scientific journals. The goal of the postdoctoral fellowship is to allow the postdoctoral fellow to further develop his or her research skills, under the close mentorship of experienced investigators, in ways that prepare the postdoctoral fellow for the next step of her or his career as an independent scientific investigator.

Minimum Education and Skills Required for Consideration:

  • PhD or equivalent doctorate in epidemiology, molecular biology, biostatistics, or related discipline appropriate for conducting population-based research on cancer epidemiology.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills.

  • A Ph.D. degree in life or biomedical sciences, or a related discipline is required.
