Position Summary and Key Responsibilities
Receives and examines surgical specimens for further diagnosis, autopsy prosection and photography . Prepares specimens for fixation and embedding. Performs frozen section procedures and participates in a variety of departmental activities and services, including patient services, research, teaching and technical procedure development.
Follows established City of Hope and department policies, procedures, objectives, performance improvement, attendance, safety, environmental, and infection control guidelines, includingadherence to theworkplaceCode of Conduct and Compliance Plan. Practices a high level of integrity and honesty in maintaining confidentiality.
Minimum Education and Skills Required for Consideration:
- Bachelor's Degree
- 0 - 1 Certified Pathologist Assistant in an anatomic pathology laboratory.
- ASCP / AAPA Pathologist Assistant certification or possession of other relevant Masters / MD degree experience
