Position Summary:

The pharmacist is a licensed professional individual with supervision experience, who is responsible for assisting the director and managers in the operational aspects of a department or unit on a 7-day/week, every other week (7 days on/7 days off) basis. This individual actively works to ensure optimal delivery of pharmaceutical care and service during the Night shift. He/she assists in performance improvement and medication safety initiatives, either through direct involvement or membership on a performance improvement team. He or she participates in the supervision of human and material resources to support program planning, execution of regulatory, workflow, and safety initiatives, and assists in the evaluation of staff. He/she provides input into and is expected to meet budget, revenue and expense targets (as applicable), and adheres to and enforces policies and requirements set forth by regulatory agencies as well as the organization. This position supervises employees, assigns work, coaches, trains, and evaluates performance. It is expected that the individual who holds this position is able to actively participate with peers, subordinates, and supervisors in constructive problem solving and to effectively develop the professional relationships necessary to manage staff and situations that may arise on the Night shift.

Follows established City of Hope and department policies, procedures, objectives, performance improvement, attendance, safety, environmental, and infection control guidelines, includingadherence to theworkplaceCode of Conduct and Compliance Plan. Practices a high level of integrity and honesty in maintaining confidentiality.

Performs other related duties as assigned or requested.

Position Qualifications:

Minimum Education:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Pharmacy
  • Graduate of an ACPE-accredited School of Pharmacy

Req. Certification/Licensure:

  • Current CA Pharmacist License.
  • CPR certification or receive one within 3 months of hire date.

Preferred Education:

  • Pharm D preferred

Preferred Experience:

  • Two years of experience, preferred
