Job Title: Per Diem RN - Days

Position Summary and Key Responsibilities

Nurses who practice in Medical and Surgical Services are characterized by their passion and compassion. Working closely with their physician colleagues, these professionals deliver care, and are called upon to assess if a transfer from outpatient to inpatient status is advisable when intense treatment or observation placement may be required.

Unit East Hospital A has 23 beds and our RNs provide acute care and observational placement for medical surgical, as well as care for overflow patients from other services.

Inpatient services include:

  • Chemotherapy/Targeted therapies /Biologic therapies;
  • Transfusions/Antibiotics/Electrolyte replacement/Hydration therapies;
  • Pre and post surgical care/Vascular Access Device management;
  • Care associated with clinical trials/Pharmacokinetics;
  • Palliative Care / Pain Management/End of Life Care;
  • Management of the side effects of disease or treatment;
  • Diagnostic and other therapeutic procedures;
  • Recognition and management of oncologic emergencies;
  • Patient education

Minimum Education and Skills Required for Consideration:

ADN (Associate Degree in Nursing) and/or BSN (Bachelor of Science in Nursing) preferred.

3 plusyears of recent clinical RN experience with solid tumor patients in medical and surgical oncology preferred.

Current California RN License required.

Current American Heart Association BLS required.

ACLS certifications preferred.
