Medical Collector - Monrovia, CA

This position is responsible for efficiently collecting reimbursement for professional medical services rendered. The person in this role will specifically work with collections from medical commercial insurance providers (ie…IPA’s, HMO’s and PPO’s). The Collector will also be in charge of monitoring and processing accounts that are both straightforward or may need further research in order to bring resolution. Must be able to work in a team environment to fulfill the mission and goals of the Division.

The ideal candidate must have knowledge of commercial medical insurance reimbursement rates and processes. The person in this role must also have experience with and knowledge of the IPA process for obtaining authorizations. Experience with reading Explanation of Benefits (EOB) statements and providing customer service is required.

Minimum Education and Skills Required for Consideration:

  • Minimum Education: High School diploma or equivalent
  • Minimum Experience: Minimum three (3) to five (5) years experience performing medical collections functions including corresponding with patients and insurance companies in resolving patient accounts.
  • Must have extensive knowledge of insurance carrier procedures. Experience with reading Explanation of Benefits (EOB) statements. Proven ability to handle multiple conflicting tasks.
