The Electronic Data Capture Lead manages the cross-functional Electronic Data Capture (EDC) team within Clinical Research Informatics (CRIC). The EDC service provides clinical investigators with electronic case report forms (eCRFs) via the Medidata Rave system and computer-scannable case report forms (CRFs) via the InTeleScans systems. This enables the efficient and effective planning, execution, and close out of clinical research studies, included clinical trials and observational studies.
The Electronic Data Capture Lead is responsible for creating and maintaining standard operating procedures (SOPs) for EDC systems to ensure reliable service delivery. She directs the work of the Clinical Research InformaticsEDC team and partners closely with clinical investigators to manage priorities for upcoming studies. She may also serve as the project lead for initiatives to build or implement new informatics systems.
Key Responsibilities include:
- Manages service delivery for informatics data capture tools, such as Medidata Rave and InTeleScans, to support City of Hope clinical investigators.
- Works closely with clinical researchers to analyze their business requirements and translate them into functional requirements.
- Manages the implementation of requirements in newly developed systems or the implementation of vendor-based systems.
- Serves as project lead for strategic informatics projects.
Provide strategic direction to the Clinical Research Informatics EDC team
Develops goals and objectives.
Establishes and implements policies and procedures governing EDC service delivery operation.
Supervise Clinical Research Informatics EDC team staff
Selects, trains/orients, supervises and assigns staff either directly or through subordinate supervisor(s). Develops standards of performance, evaluates performance, and initiates or makes recommendations for personnel actions.
Manage implementation of studies
Oversees the requirements analysis, design, construction, testing, and deployment of studies in EDC tools such as InTeleScans and Medidata Rave
Serve as project lead
Oversees the implementation of commercial systems or creation of customized systems to assist clinicians in specialized areas of expertise.
Basic education, experience and skills required for consideration:
- Bachelor's degree in Biology, Chemistry, Physics, Public Health, Engineering, or Business.
- 5 years experience in the field of Informatics including clinical trials experience.
Preferred education experience and skills:
- Masters degree or higher preferred.
