Position Summary:

This position reports directly to the Executive Director, Employer Services, MD. The Medical Director, Employer Strategy will be responsible for serving as a medical specialist offering clinical expertise in our expanding service of remote expert opinions and tele-oncology while contributing to the leadership of program development, sales and client management in Employer/Payer Services, and shaping the operating processes and future growth of this array of services.

We are seeking a Director, Employer Strategy MD to will fill a key role in the ongoing design and operations of this division and help shape an emerging new pattern of delivering cancer care by integrating remote sub-specialist input and support broadly across the US health care system while preserving the convenience and feasibility of treatment administration close to a patient’s home. Ideally, this candidate will be a Medical Oncology subject matter expert in Gastrointestinal cancers. Working in a team lead by the President, Strategy and Business Ventures, helps to develop and implement the strategic plan, develop standard operating procedures (SOPs), help create employee and consumer-facing cancer care programs’ infrastructure develop educational content for participating patients, and review and analyze data related to the clinical aspects of the Payor and Employer Strategy.

The Medical Director, Employer Strategy will serve as an integral clinical leader shaping the path of novel patterns of delivering a higher quality and value to cancer care that ensures a way for all patients to capitalize on the rapid developments in oncology that increasingly require sub-specialist input and support.

Qualifications
Basic education, experience and skills required for consideration :

  • Medical physician and Board Eligible in Medical or Hematologic Oncology.
  • Must possess a current Medical License.
  • 6 years or more in executive leadership role specializing in General Oncology, Hematology, Lung, Gastro Intestinal and Breast at an academic medical center or highly reputable healthcare organization.
  • Subject matter expert in gastrointestinal cancers.
  • Expresses commitment to City of Hope’s mission, personally identifies with its vision and takes pride in shared success.

Preferred education experience and skills :
  • Medical physician and Board Eligible in Medical or Hematologic Oncology; Board Certified preferred.
  • 8 years or more in executive leadership role at academic medical center or highly reputable healthcare organization
  • Must possess a current Medical License.
