City of Hope

Associate Professor

Professor Series position in Statistics for Clinical and Translational Science

City of Hope has a unique opportunity for a statistician with experience in translational research and clinical trials, and with an active methodological research program. This will be a full-time appointment in the professor track, with rank commensurate with experience. The candidate is expected to have an excellent methodological publication record and extramural-grant funding. Research experience should be relevant to precision medicine, translational research, or early clinical trials of targeted cancer therapies. Excellent communication and computing skills are required.

City of Hope is a free-standing, non-profit research institution with an NIH-designated Comprehensive Cancer Center. COH provides ample opportunities for a statistician to collaborate in cutting-edge research and early development of therapies for cancer and diabetes. A major focus of the position, however, is on developing statistical methodology in response to the needs of current biomedical research. COH has a Ph.D. program in Biological Science, but not statistics. Graduate students in may be available through the statistics department of our CTSA sister institution, and developing this interaction is a major goal, as is the stimulation of research in statistical methodology in collaboration with statisticians of the Biostatistics Core, who are actively engaged in biomedical research. A generous start-up package is available.
