Job Title: Apheresis Nurse I, Donor Room
Position Summary and Key Responsibilities
Performs donor phlebotomy, apheresis and therapeutic procedures. Participates in department research projects, trials and data gathering. Trains and re-trains staff, develops new procedures, participates in quality assurance activities to continually ensure the safety of the blood supply and provide the highest quality of service/care. May be designated to serve in Charge Nurse capacity. Demonstrates a caring and professional manner at all times.
Minimum Education and Skills Required for Consideration:
- One year experience in blood donor collections and/or apheresis procedures. Experience in training or as a preceptor preferred
- Valid California Registered Nursing License; current BLS certification
- Knowledgeable in Fed/State and accreditation regulations; specialized apheresis procedures
- Excellent oral/written communication and organizational skills
