VITA - Site Coordinator

This is a Temporary Seasonal Position.

The City of Fort Worth is recruiting to hire part-time Volunteer Income Tax Assistance (VITA) Site Coordinators for the Neighborhood Services Department. The Site Coordinator is responsible for daily operations of an assigned VITA site within Tarrant County, including customer service, client flow, volunteer supervision, and tax return accuracy. Site Coordinators must provide daily guidance to volunteers on work flow, problem solving, and task completion, and ensure that clients are being served efficiently.

Essential functions also include understanding and implementing IRS Quality Site Requirements at assigned site; monitoring and implementing IRS updates; completing reports as required by VITA Program Manager; assisting with volunteer training; overseeing quality review process; and maintaining a positive relationship with the site host.


The following education and/or experience are the minimum standards which provide the requisite knowledge, skills and abilities for this position:

High School Diploma/GED with two years of administrative and client contact experience in a social services or related program. Higher levels of education, experience and certifications preferred.

The selected candidate will have experience working with volunteers; office management responsibilities, superior communication skills; and familiarity with various client populations including low income households.

Candidates must also have the ability to work effectively under pressure, manage time efficiently, work independently, and competently establish and maintain effective working relationships with individuals and groups.

Candidates must be able to pass the following IRS tests/trainings: Standards of Conduct, Site Coordinator Certification, Advanced Certification, and HSA Certification.

Computer skills required. Heavy public and telephone contact required. Possession of, or ability to obtain, an appropriate Texas Driver's License is required.

Bilingual English/Spanish skills are highly desirable.
