Pool / Lifeguard Manager

The Park and Recreation Department Aquatics section is seeking to fill six positions with dependable and professional individuals with a strong background in pool operations. The successful candidate must have knowledge of the operation of chemical pumps, valves and general water flow operations of swimming pools, as well as, experience in pool staff management. Applicants must be able to communicate effectively orally and in writing; must be competent in water safety management; rescue techniques; cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR); first aid applications.

The Pool Manager is held accountable for the basic managerial responsibilities of swimming pool operations; assigning personnel; determining the opening and closing of the pool due to inclement weather, mechanical failures, or other incidents after discussion and approval of the Athletic Coordinator. Most importantly, the Pool Manager is responsible for ensuring good relations and safety to staff and the public.

Applicants must be at least 18 years of age or older and must possess current Lifeguard Certification. Certified Lifeguard and Water Safety Instructor experience and experience working at a municipal swimming pool preferred.

These positions are Summer Only and Require working Days, Evenings, Weekends and Holidays.
