The IT Solutions GIS Team maintains and supports a centralized Enterprise GIS platform, including sde databases, mapping web sites, and all interfaces with other systems. We are constantly bringing new technology to the City to streamline business processes, improve government transparency and make services more readily available to our citizens. This opportunity offers challenges in planning, management, and administration of the activities and operations of the GIS Group staff to meet the needs and demands from the users/customers.
What We're Looking For
Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university with major course work in Computer Science, Engineering, Management Information Systems, Computer Programming, Computer Technology or a related field (e.g. Geographic Information Systems or GIS, Geography) PLUS five (5) years of experience in Geographic Information Systems design/administration, computer systems analysis, or computer programming and have at least 2 years supervisory experience. Preferred candidates will have more years' supervisory experience.
We are looking for an IT Manager who participates in the planning, management and administration of the activities and operations of the GIS Group that may include communications, security, computer operations and/or other related information technology services; coordinates assigned activities with divisions, departments and outside agencies; leads and coordinates analysis, design, testing, acquisition, installation, maintenance and preparation of information processing requirements and computer application systems; works with customers, business planners and senior management to transform business needs into technical requirements; and, provides highly responsible and complex administrative support for the other management team members.
Applicant must be able to pass a CJIS background check.

In this position you will have the ability to support solutions that can change the way the City conducts business. You will managing a staff that does day to day support for numerous systems/applications, while also working on many enterprise projects that have been approved. You will be working with the staff and senior management on creating a strategic plan for GIS throughout the City of Fort Worth.
