Customer Service Rep II

The Consumer Health Division is seeking a Customer Service Representative II.

The Consumer Health division protects the public from foodborne, waterborne and other communicable diseases. The division performs over 10,000 health inspections annually and provides health education programs while still providing exceptional customer service to the citizens of Fort Worth.

This Customer Service Representative II position will perform a wide variety of technical clerical functions. You will be a part of a team that maintains and updates a complex database and filing system; process numerous types of forms, reports and permits; perform calculations and monetary transactions; research files and records to ensure accurate invoicing and customer response. Additionally, you get to help the citizens of Fort Worth by responding to customer inquiries and processing citizen complaints in a timely and efficient manner for the health inspectors to adequately investigate. Representatives are also called upon to explain applicable policies and procedures to customers at the service window.

This is a full time position, Monday through Friday, 8:00 am to 5:00 pm; spending a majority of your time in an office environment. This position is responsible for completing daily financial transactions and processing them accurately.

Qualifications:

A combination of education and experience sufficient to perform the essential duties of the position. Typically candidates will have the following minimum requirements:

High School Diploma/GED and two years of responsible customer service experience through face to face and telephone interactions.

Other Requirements:

Candidate must be able to take and pass the Office Skills Test with a minimum typing speed of 35 wpm and filing score of 70 or above. The test is administered Monday-Friday; 9:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. at 200 Texas Street, Human Resources, Lower Level. No appointment is necessary but Photo ID is required. Preferences will be given to applicants with the following:

  • Spanish/English bi-lingual skills;
  • Customer Service experience with heavy public contact.
