CUSTOMER SERVICE REP. I – 1 PART-TIME POSITION AVAILABLE

LOCATION - WEDGWOOD BRANCH

The City of Fort Worth Public Library is seeking an outgoing, detail-oriented Customer Service Representative to fill 1 part-time position (20 hours per week). This position requires the individual to work some nights and weekends.

Successful candidate will enjoy interacting with the public in a fast-paced, customer-focused work environment in a diverse community based facility geared towards children and families. The essential duties of the position include checking out/in books, music, and movies; issuing library cards and opening accounts; collecting fines; resolving customer concerns in a positive, professional manner; and interpreting, applying, and explaining policies and procedures. Customer Service Representatives also receive, sort, shelve, and retrieve library materials, in addition to performing general clerical duties.

Must be able to take and pass Office Skills Test. Minimum typing is 30 wpm and filing is 70. Test is administered Mon-Friday 9:00am - 3:00 pm 200 Texas Street, Staffing Services, Lower Level. No appointment is necessary. Please call 817-392-7750 for more information.

Minimum Requirements:

  • High School Diploma or GED
  • Must work some nights and weekends.

Preference may be given to applicants with:

  • Two (2) years of progressively responsible customer service experience
  • One year library experience is a plus.
  • Microsoft Word, Excel
  • Polaris Integrated Library System
  • Typing skills, multi-tasking and extensive telephone and public contact
  • Cash handling experience
  • Bi-lingual skills (Spanish)

Working Conditions:

Office or library environment; exposure to computer screens.

Essential and marginal functions may require maintaining physical condition necessary for sitting, walking or standing for prolonged periods of time.
