The City of Fort Worth - Finance Department is seeking to fill an Accountant position in the area of Reconciliations. This professional level accounting position will join a highl functioning Financial Reporting team to provide timely and accurate financial, operational, and management information for decision makers of the City. The chosen candidate will perform general ledger account reconciliations, financial analysis, create journal entries, assist Financial Reporting staff in producing the City's monthly financial report, and serve as a liaison to other City departments while providing exceptional customer service to all customers. It will be imperative that the Accountant be a strategic thinker and have demonstrated experience in general ledger reconciliations and basic knowledge of accounting principles and practices.

Bachelor's Degree from an accredited college or university with major coursework in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or related field PLUS three (3) years of increasingly responsible accounting experience required.

Possession of, or ability to obtain, an appropriate, valid Texas driver's license

Preference may be given to candidates who possess Certified Public Accountant credentials; engage in the Government Finance Officers Association; and/or possess credentials as a Certified Public Finance Officer or Certified Government Finance Officer (CGFO).

Preference may also be given to candidates who have municipal government experience; PeopleSoft experience and Microsoft word, excel, access and power point.

The successful candidate will have a strong understanding of financial technology, be adept at problem-solving, and be proficient in the principles and practices of governmental accounting standards and have a proven track record of success in performing general ledger reconciliations.
