Retail Design Lead, Brand Design

Overview

Chick-fil-A is establishing a branded merchandise portfolio to be offered in various retail channels including retail, digital, and internal channels. In this position, the retail design lead would be responsible for providing strategy and design expertise for the total approach to Chick-fil-A branded merchandise. This role will establish a strategy for merchandise compelling to customers with the corresponding full merchandise portfolio and visual guidelines for consistent brand representation. The retail design lead will also bring design thinking methodologies, brand expertise, retail understanding, and system knowledge to the role.

Responsibilities

  • Lead vision and strategy for Chick-fil-A branded retail merchandise, internal merchandise, and children's merchandise
  • Develop and execute a design strategy and infrastructure for retail channels working closely with cross-functional teams
  • Create clear and strategic design briefs that meet business objectives
  • Cultivate innovative ideas to produce effective design solutions
  • Assist in the visual design of on-site setups and pop-up shops; create a retail brand experience that is innovative, authentic, and reflective of our brand
  • Set pricing strategy and inventory plans for various retail channels
  • Develop and maintain a merchandising visual identity system to drive brand consistency and evolution
  • Present retail concepts and design strategies to cross-functional teams
  • Lead design and seasonal product selection for internal merchandise program and retail merchandise
  • Project coordinate and work cross-functionally with internal teams, agencies, vendors, research, and additional counterparts
  • Manage agency, retail, and licensing partnerships
  • Leverage design to meet business objectives to optimize and expand retail merchandise
  • Supervise the execution of designs through prepress and printing
  • Responsible for managing project budgets, timelines and details managing multiple projects in various stages at once


Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in graphic design, retail merchandising or equivalent work experience
  • 8+ years' experience in a creative environment
  • Expertise in retail and environment design systems
  • Business-savvy, design leader with the highest standard for design excellence and strategic problem solving
  • Flawless attention to detail and a commitment to producing high-quality work
  • Strong multi-tasking, time management, communication, and organizational skills
  • Expertise with Adobe Creative Suite
  • Deep knowledge of global retail concepts and trends
