Lead Data Analyst


The Chick-fil-A Marketing Department desires to know more of our Customers and to deliver food, services and advertising that resonates with them. We are looking for individuals who can support our pursuit of a "Modern Marketing Engine". As part of the Customer & Market Insights (CMI) team, this role will help us to identify, store and analyze quantitative data and qualitative research to better understand competitors, customers and consumers as we incorporate new platforms into our ecosystem. This position will work with others on the CMI team as well as IT and external vendors to help identify data sets as we implement new data platforms. The role will support strategic decisions by devising methods for identifying data patterns and trends in available information sources.


  • Assist in identification and implementation of data sets related to new data platforms, including a DMP, CDP and others identified in our analytic roadmap to support analytic capabilities
  • Analyze quantitative data and qualitative research to better understand customers and competitors
  • Understand and apply data mining techniques to generate deep insights
  • Support Customer & Market Insights in providing strategic insights to Marketing
  • Proactively identify and resolve areas of friction impacting operation or usability of data
  • Partner with IT to ensure adherence to industry leading data integrity practices

Minimum Qualifications

  • Comfortable with manipulation of data sets from a variety of sources
  • Strong analytical skills to define solutions to business problems
  • SAS, SPSS or R experience, or similar analytic tool, (ideally two years+ experience in industry)
  • Experience with SQL, Alteryx or like data transformation tool
  • Strong Microsoft Excel ability
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills and ability to work cross functionally
  • Strong interest in customer focused marketing technologies that lead to insights for the business

Preferred Qualifications

  • Previous background/experience in Data Analytics, Data Management and/or Data Governance
  • Experience in the day to day support of marketing technology platforms, for the purpose of supporting data mining and analytic needs
  • Understanding of customer recognition and management of PII for targeted engagement
  • Experience implementing data platforms
  • Strong understanding of marketing automation best practices
  • Experience collaborating with IT organizations
  • Ability to translate identified business use cases into analytical & technical requirements
