Summer Associate, Marketing & Analysis (2017)


The Chicago Cubs are looking for a high performing summer associate for their Marketing Department. Over the course of 10 weeks, the associate will work closely with the Marketing Department to conduct customer research and develop recommendations to evolve the Chicago Cubs integrated marketing and communications strategy.


  • Perform customer research and competitive analysis to identify best practices
  • Analyze strategic ticketing and/or revenue opportunities and develop IMC plans for execution
  • Communicate findings and recommendations to Cubs senior leadership team
  • Collaborate with Marketing, Strategy and Ticketing


  • 1st year MBA student that is concentrating on Marketing and/or Strategy
  • Experience in marketing, analytics, or new business development
  • Demonstrated strong critical thinking skills
  • Demonstrated ability to prioritize workload; take ownership and administer projects autonomously
  • Demonstrated excellent interpersonal and team building skills among all organizational levels
  • Demonstrated strong oral and written communication
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint


  • Demonstrated self-starter with leadership aptitude
  • Experience consolidating and analyzing customer data from multiple sources to guide strategic business decisions
  • Proficiency with basic data analysis tools and methods
  • Knowledge and understanding of sports marketing activations
