Community Affairs Summer Intern (2017)

ROLE

The Chicago Cubs Community Affairs Intern will assist the department with charitable and fundraising initiatives with a focus on Cubs Charities three signature programs: Cubs on the Move Fitness Program, Cubs Scholars and Cubs Charities Diamond Project.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Work with the Manager of Cubs Charities Programs on implementation of Cubs signature programs including Cubs on the Move Fitness Program, Cubs Scholars and Cubs Charities Diamond Project
  • Support baseball specific programs and initiatives
  • Work with community affairs team on charity related activity
  • Assist Manager of Cubs Charities Programs with research projects as needed
  • Assist with grant making research and outcome measurement

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • Must be working towards a four-year undergraduate degree from an accredited university or college
  • Excellent interpersonal skills
  • Ability to prioritize workload; ability to take ownership and administer projects with little guidance
  • Proficiency with the Microsoft Office suite of products
  • Must be available on full-time basis, for the duration of the Internship

DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • Prior volunteer or community service experience
  • Prior experience working with youth
  • Prior experience using quantitative analysis for impact assessment
  • Poise and a professional presence
