Key Responsibility:

  • Possess strong strategic thinking skills, with an emphasis on delivering and measuring action plans
  • Be proactive and positive; interact professionally with a diverse group of associates, peers, managers, suppliers, clients and customers

  • Demonstrate initiative and good judgment in assisting customers, clients, peers and subordinates

  • Have a high level of resilience during stressful periods and the ability to handle last minute changes
  • Operates the department in accordance with the approved budget, while providing the client with the maximum value for the dollars spent
  • Ensures that the food offered to the students superior quality
  • Directs and conducts safety, sanitation, and maintenance programs
  • Maintains excellent relationships with students, faculty, guests and client as well as other departments within the community
  • Promotes the professional growth and development of the entire team
  • Resident District Manager will foster strong inter-departmental relations and integrate the dining service department with the facility plan of operations

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree or equivalent years of additional experience
  • Minimum of five (5) years of Proven Leadership expertise
  • Two (2) to four (4) years of direct foodservice operational management experience preferably in Higher Ed Dining setting, with inventory and purchasing knowledge and control
  • Strong knowledge of food and catering trends with a focus on quality, production, sanitation, food cost controls, and presentation
  • Knowledge of P&L accountability and contract-managed service experience is desirable
  • ServSafe® certified a plus
  • Must be forward thinking, proactive and the face of Chartwells on campus
  • Ability to offer new ideas and communicate change in a proactive way
  • Must have the ability to travel to other regional accounts on a as needed basis (could involve overnight stays)
