Senior Specialist, Security Systems Engineering

Westlake, TX

Salary Range: USD $65,300 - $133,500 / Year

Your Opportunity

The Security Systems Team is a core function of Corporate Security and is primarily responsible for ensuring that physical security systems are engineered, designed, and operates in a secure manner mitigating physical threats to associates, property and Schwab infrastructure systems. These responsibilities include delivering solutions that satisfy pre-defined functional end user requirements; developing, maintaining, and troubleshooting physical security systems; preventing misuse and malicious behavior and outlining constraints and restrictions within security policy.

The Corporate Security Systems Senior Specialist is a Jack/Jill of all trades role that can step into many scenarios and provide strong support regardless of operations or systems and do not fall within certain parameters of any formal team. A well-rounded position that is valuable to be included in discussions to make sure other considerations are thought of that may not normally be in the forefront of security risks and mitigations, for example: associate accommodations, Human Resource processes, and compliance regulations.

What you are good at

The Corporate Security Systems Senior Specialist role is sampled in these four areas:
  1. Gather and compile numerous department metrics in a professional thorough report that is distributed to senior management of corporate security and multiple other business partners/units.
  2. Manage the Corporate Security formal request processes. Monitor team mailboxes and ensure all locations are adhering to processes and requests are addressed appropriately and in a timely fashion.
  3. Managing service and process issues ensuring inquires/problems are properly reported and the systems are maintained for end users. Tracking opened and closed service issues to ensure timeliness is met and resolutions are documented.
  4. Working with Schwab technology resources to ensure applications are operational and updated as needed. Being the liaison between those teams and corporate security entities.

Well qualified candidates for this position will demonstrate the following key traits:
  1. Experience partnering with peers to find an appropriate balance between operations and security.
  2. Capable of analyzing large amounts of disparate data to produce easily understandable content.
  3. Knowledge of physical security processes, systems, and technologies.
  4. Advanced experience and skill with Window's operating systems and Microsoft Office Suite products.


What you have

Requirements:
  1. 2 Year College Degree or Equivalent Experience.
  2. 5+ years total experience.
  3. Competent understanding of mixed-technology solutions and knowledge of supporting technology tools and controls such as databases, infrastructure, logical access control, networking, and operating systems.
  4. Various software experience and skills in Microsoft Office Excel, PowerPoint, Word, and security systems including but not limited to access control and video surveillance systems.
  5. Ability to perform problem solving in a complex, demanding environment by drawing on a pool of technical experience, business understanding and good judgment.
  6. Must be resourceful, creative, innovative, results driven, and adaptable and have solid problem solving and analytical skills.
  7. Preferred Licenses/Certifications:
    1. ASIS APP, PSP, or CPP
    2. CompTIA IT Fundamentals, A+, or Security +
