Sales Representative, Retirement Plan Services

Wayne, PA

Your Opportunity We are looking for a self-motivated sales professional to sell and work with consultants as they actively pursue new defined contribution plan sales opportunities in the mid-market to increase assets under management. This individual will also partner with large market sales professionals to develop relationships with large market plan sponsors. As a Vice President of Sales, this individual will be responsible for prospecting, managing and growing business in a designated territory, promote cross-engagement opportunities and develop relationships with key benefit/investment consultants.

What you are good at

  • Identify, pursue and sell to retirement plan prospects with an emphasis on mid and large market plans with executive or management level focus
  • Achieve weekly activity goals
  • Orchestrate and lead "team selling & presenting" for optimum sales effectiveness
  • Collaborate with teammates and partners to identify, develop and maintain relationships with key prospects and consultants
  • Sales opportunity/pipeline development and management
  • Maintain up to date and accurate records, files, and critical data in sales database (SalesForce)
  • Manage the sales process for all assigned sales opportunities
  • Perform/provide all required and requested documentation for active sales opportunities
  • Provide timely updates to Sales management and RPS leadership upon request
  • Identify integrated benefits leads with other Schwab business lines (i.e Stock Plan Services)
  • Understand and effectively communicate the breadth of additional Schwab workplace services
  • Coach and mentor extended sales team members to effectively sell and negotiate with prospects
  • Effectively collaborate with Business Acceptance, Proposal teams, and other internal business partners.

What you have
  • 5+ years of proven intermediary sales experience with emphases in the qualified and non-qualified plan industry
  • Considerable industry, marketplace, and competitor knowledge in the qualified and non-qualified plan industry plan marketplace
  • Strong knowledge of and experience building relationships with retirement plan consultants
  • Strong customer-focus, the ability to influence decision-making, and a track record of exceeding plan sponsor and consultant expectations
  • Ability to interact with and connect with different level individuals within a prospect or consultant organization
  • Self-motivated, enthusiastic individual who demonstrates a high degree of personal integrity, resilience, honesty and respect for others
  • Effective organizational skills and ability to handle multiple assignments at a given time
  • Ability to meet deadlines and manage through issues
  • Display confidence, accountability, and professionalism with each interaction
  • Excellent interpersonal, presentation, technology, client service, and analytical skills
  • Ability to effectively position solutions with prospects and consultants, and develop creative solutions to overcome hindrances
  • Ability to motivate and collaborate with sales support individuals
  • Overnight travel is required
  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience; post graduate and/or additional certifications a plus
  • Series 7 and 63 licenses required
