This role can be REMOTE.

The Schwab Enterprise Architecture (EA) team is looking for a director/principal level Enterprise Architect. The EA team is responsible for developing and maintaining the organization's enterprise architecture function, leading the firm's technology strategy, ensuring architectural consistency and coherence, and managing technology standards.

This role is responsible for evolving this function, enhancing the Architecture & Technology Governance framework, driving architectural consistency, guiding solutions to help realize strategies and target state architectures, and partnering with peer organizations to evolve and promote SOA and event-streaming architecture guidance and standard processes.

What you are good at

  • A strong history of successful work in Enterprise Architecture functions, Architecture and Technology Governance Frameworks, and architecture standards.
  • Using and evolving Application Platform Model, Architecture Patterns, Building Blocks, Reference architectures, Guidelines, etc. and demonstrating them to drive consistence architecture outcomes across the enterprise.
  • Providing thought leadership and strategy support to manage and support integration with architecture management tools used by EA and EA's partners.
  • Developing and maintaining enterprise architecture templates and artifacts.

What you have

  • At least 10 years of software architecture experience with diverse experience in various architecture domains (business, application, data, infrastructure & security)
  • Practical experience with implementing enterprise architecture processes using industry frameworks (e.g., TOGAF, BizBok, etc.)
  • Experience with defining and operating enterprise architecture federated processes in a large enterprise.
  • Excellent technical, analytical and project management skills
  • Full life cycle experience in application development, deployment, and operations.
  • Customer focus and architecture management approach.
  • Collaboration, building consensus, and Issue/Conflict resolution.
  • Communications, both verbal (e.g., presentations, lunch and learns, etc.), and written (e.g., reports, articles, procedures, etc.) including building and delivering strategy presentations to senior executives.
