Mobile App Senior Product Owner

Your Opportunity Charles Schwab Investor Online Services is responsible for the web, mobile and messaging platforms that serve Schwab Retail Clients. The Platform and Product Management organization defines the experience and oversees the management of Schwab's electronic channels (Schwab.com and mobile apps), and internal platforms used by Schwab service representatives and financial consultants. This position will focus on the Schwab mobile app.
Our purpose is to providing tools and experiences that enable clients to achieve their financial objectives, while supporting the strategic growth of the firm.
The team is responsible for:

  • Strategy - Envision the future and build the near-term roadmap for our mobile app strategy
  • Execution - Create and drive all aspects required to bring new functionality to clients including the definition, creation, development and implementation of the core mobile app solutions
  • Client service - Serve clients with compelling experiences that exceed expectations
  • Partnership - Collaborate with technology, design, marketing and others in delivering for our clients

What you're good at
  • You will be responsible for championing the client experience for project efforts, participating in customer journey sessions to build client empathy to generate ideas and translating insights into business cases and future looking roadmaps/release plans
  • You will be responsible for developing, monitoring and reporting on key performance metrics for your features and the mobile app channel
  • You will fulfill the product owner role in daily stand-up meetings, sprint planning sessions, backlog prioritization, user story preparation and demos.
  • You will work with technical, design, business, and compliance counterparts to define product release requirements ensuring effective and efficient prioritization of requirements
  • You will work internally to create awareness and understanding for app experiences and provide relevant and concise updates to management teams.
  • You will collaborate with marketing and other partners to build client awareness and engagement for assigned app experiences


What you have

  • Ability to track multiple projects (3-4) going on all at once, prioritize the team backlog to reflect client value, and create future looking roadmaps
  • Effective relationship builder--ability to partner cross-functionally, cross-enterprise and work effectively with various levels of the organization as well as various personality types
  • Comfort in a dynamic and fast-moving work environment, with a positive attitude and solid work ethic
  • Good understanding and/or experience with financial services regulations is a plus
  • Experience with meaningful "Mobile First" implementations is a plus
  • Bachelor's degree required, MBA is a plus
  • 5+ years product owner experience (mobile app preferred)
