Position Description
CGI is hiring a Solution Architect to join our dynamic team.

Your future duties and responsibilities
The candidate will rely on their growing technical skills and experience to solution, design, estimate, present and deliver technical solutions with clean, well-organized and expressive code to CGI's customer base. The solution Architect will be working with our client to understand their business needs and help deliver value though technology. The candidate should be very articulate about the technologies that come into play and capable of providing direction on this space.

• Overall 8+ years in Information Technology/Software Engineering and Lead the end-to-end architecture and development of application
• Hands On experience in designing and building Microservices & REST API's. (SOAP and REST web service development
• Proficiency programming in more than one object-oriented programming language: JAVA, JavaScript.
• Experience with HTML, CSS and Frameworks such as Angular, Spring Security
• Expert in Spring Boot and Spring Batch applications
• Knowledge of relational and non-relational databases (Oracle SQL, NoSQL)
• Knowledge of DevOps best practices, Jenkins, CI/CD
• Knowledge of Kubernetes platform, preferably OpenShift
• Exhibit the desire to lead and mentor other developers on and across teams
• Develop security procedures to protect databases from unauthorized usage.
• Evaluate existing database and recommend improvements for performance efficiency.
• Develop best practices for database design and development activities.

Required qualifications to be successful in this role
• At least 8+ years designing and building complex solutions.
• 6+ Hands on experience in developing and integrating API/Restful web services using
• 7 + Experience with API management and Gateway tools and best practices.
• 4 + Experience with distributed source code control and versioning (Git, GitHub, Bitbucket)
• 4 + Experience with agile software development suite of tools (Azure DevOps, Jira, etc.)
• 3+ Proficiency with relational databases including writing stored procedures and queries
• Knowledge of Application Infrastructure and Architecture
• Work with technical and end users to understand business requirements and identify database/data solutions.
• Demonstrated experience leading teams on API architecture initiatives
• Demonstrated experience designing API architecture with modern coding, security, testing and documentation principles and best practices
• Extensive experience with development of RESTful services and API development design patterns
• Define enterprise-level standards (coding, architectural, migration), platform and tool selection.
• Good Experience of analyzing functional & non-functional business requirements & converting into technical data requirements.
• Hands on experience with shell scripting
• Experience in hands on design, prototyping, development, configurations, testing and other implementation activities
• Strong technical background, analytical, and problem-solving skills are required
• Ability to work collaboratively within a team environment and capable of delivering under aggressive timelines
• Must possess strong communication and interpersonal skills
• Looking for self-motivated candidates who are hands on at their current positions and have hunger to learn new technologies
• Able to work in a fast-paced, dynamic environment
• Capable of incident resolution during major incident process
• Good time management and prioritization skills; self-starters especially welcome

The determination of this range includes various factors not limited to skill set level, experience and training, and licensure and certifications. To support the ability to reward for merit-based performance, CGI typically does not hire individuals at or near the top of the range for their role. Compensation decisions are dependent on the facts and circumstances of each case. A reasonable estimate of the current range is $84,000- $186,000"
