Join the Cerner ITWorks team onsite at Tiger Institute-Columbia working in partnership on the continuous improvement of patient care!

As a Senior Biomedical Equipment Technician, you will be responsible for providing technical support to medical equipment users and manage medical equipment maintenance, calibration, and service. You will provide technical support to medical equipment users and troubleshoot complex medical equipment and systems to determine the cause of problem and record results as well as recommend changes in test methods or equipment as needed for medical equipment testing. This also includes maintaining and calibrating complex medical equipment to industry standards including preventive maintenance on all assigned medical equipment. You will also perform safety inspections and initiate any necessary service for routine and high-risk medical equipment. Other responsibilities will include coordination of equipment installations, including planning, scheduling, and oversight; maintain asset management including maintenance scheduling and parts tracking. Finally, you will assist in the investigation and reporting of incidents involving medical devices.

Qualifications
Basic Qualifications
  • Associate degree in Computer Science, Electronics, Computer Information Systems, Biomedical Equipment Technology, or related field; or equivalent relevant work experience
  • At least 3 years clinical engineering work experience
Preferred Qualifications
  • Certified Biomedical Engineering Technologist (BMET)
  • Certified Biomedical Equipment Technician (CBET)
  • Certified Radiology Equipment Specialist (CRES)
  • Working knowledge or training on Siemens Imaging modalities
  • Military biomedical equipment training
Expectations
  • Must live in or around the Columbia, Missouri area
  • Ability to lift 50-75 lbs
