As Corporate Counsel, you will provide legal guidance-advising, drafting, reviewing, and negotiating-client and supplier agreements with clients of our cybersecurity offerings. You will also provide legal guidance on data privacy and information security provisions with Cerner's healthcare clients and proactively advise Cerner executives on existing and emerging data privacy and information security laws. Specialized knowledge in cybersecurity and global healthcare privacy, including the GDPR, California Consumer Privacy Act, state information security statutes strongly preferred. Another core component of your role will be to partner with the business to execute effective strategies to reduce risk throughout Cerner.
Our ideal candidate must have the ability to quickly and effectively manage a variety of assignments under time constraints and effectively prioritize workload based on Cerner's business needs and strategic goals. To be a successful in this role, you must have excellent oral and written communication and negotiation skills and you must have a commitment to a high level of ethics, professionalism, and confidentiality.
- JD from an American Bar Association accredited law school
- License to practice law in Missouri or ability to obtain license to practice as an in-house attorney based in Missouri
- At least 2 years ofwork experienceas an attorney
- At least 2 years of partner-track work experiencein a top law firm or in-house work experience focused on cybersecurity and global healthcare privacy
- Must live in or be willing to relocate to Kansas City, MO
