Position Summary
Under the general direction of the Language Services Manager, performs translation services of written communications between English and a designated second language (Spanish) in a variety of settings, and performs other related duties as assigned as interpretation services.
Duties & Responsibilities
- Excellent oral and written communication skills, including the ability to write reports, business correspondence, and timelines and instructions, and explain complex technical and quantitative information to general audiences.
- Knowledge in Microsoft Suite applications and Zoom, Microsoft Teams, and other platforms.
- Knowledge of the structure and content of the language including the meaning and spelling of words, rules of composition, and grammar.
- Knowledge of the structure and content of a designated secondary language including the meaning and spelling of words, rules of composition, and grammar, and pronunciation.
- Active listening - giving full attention to what other people are saying, taking time to understand the points being made, asking questions as appropriate, and not interrupting.
- Strong interpersonal, team, and collaborative skills.
- Ability to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing in English and a designated second language.
- Customer service oriented and the ability to respond in a timely manner.
- Maintaining and modeling a professional demeanor.
- Strong background in Translation and Interpretation theory and techniques.

Minimum Qualifications:
- Associate Degree, State or National Translation and or Interpretation Certification or proof of training completion certificate from a recognized organization of the field. 2 years of experience interpreting/translating English and a designated second language (Spanish)
- Bilingual in English and Secondary Language (Spanish) REQUIRED
This position offers a hybrid work schedule. The selected candidate will be required to be on CNM campuses as needed to provide in-person services and attend departmental meetings.
This is a Part-Time position that is Benefits Eligible.
