Position: Senior Quantitative Analyst – Information Technology (IT) Practice

The IT Practice aims to hire Senior Quantitative Analyst, and is currently accepting applications. You will be part of the IT Quantitative team addressing cutting-edge strategic issues facing today’s senior-most IT member executives at leading, global corporations. The IT practice provides excellent exposure to the full range of IT topics and provides the opportunity to develop your understanding of IT and business concepts.

The position is for individuals interested in conducting data-driven research and analysis—the foundation for any data science, strategic planning or research-oriented career. Analysts enjoy exposure to the full array of strategic data work: data management and processes; reporting and survey analyses; benchmarking and norming surveys; quantitative modeling; proprietary research; and increasingly use of big data tools and techniques focused on peeling apart ideas in search of data-based insight.

Overall Job Purpose and Responsibilities

You will help develop CEB’s IT related content, including development of best practices and data based products and insights. The content you create will be aimed at serving the needs of CXO’s and their teams operating globally. The role will involve quantitative research and developing insights and approaches to address key issues facing CXO’s. You should have demonstrated knowledge and expertise in the IT area.

Specific responsibilities include:


  • Own end-to-end creation, development and analysis of large, complex, disparate data sets to identify actionable insights for senior executives
  • Assist with large-scale data collection efforts through administration of multi-national panel or member facing surveys targeted to CXOs, their teams, or their business partners
  • Build standardized data reports for members with simple and insightful graphics that help them understand internal gaps as well as allow them to benchmark themselves against their peers
  • Employ analytical tools, such as root cause analysis and basic statistical principles to validate data, conduct analysis and identify underlying drivers of members’ business problems and create hypotheses regarding solutions
  • Communicate and present analytical insights to internal stakeholders that include senior practice leaders, subject matter experts and advisors
  • Contribute to whitepapers and other CEB-style end products to highlight some of the most interesting insights based on quantitative and qualitative research


  • Train and develop team of quantitative analysts
  • Help team dissect problems using qualitative and quantitative research and analysis skills, inductive and deductive reasoning, abstract thinking and root-cause analysis
  • Coach junior team members to distill insights into high-level, strategic recommendations for the entire memberships of executives
  • Manage quality and productivity of the teams projects


  • 5 to 7 years’ experience at a leading research or consulting firm or as a practitioner who has played significant role in Information technology
  • MBA or a Postgraduate Degree from a recognized premier Institute in disciplines with a strong analytics component, including Statistics, Computer Science, Economics, Econometrics, Applied Microeconomics
  • At least 18 months managerial experience with direct or indirect supervision responsibilities
  • Experience in conducting research, managing or partnering on benchmarking surveys and conducting survey analysis is good to have
  • Proficiency with statistical concepts and in at least one statistical software package (R, Stata, SPSS, etc.)
  • Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Excel and Power Point

  • Passion for research, analysis and insight generation
  • Ability to distill quantitative and qualitative data into important, relevant ‘‘so what’s’‘ for a CXO-level audience
  • Self-starter, capable of taking the initiative and managing own pieces of work
  • Should have experience leading short term and long term projects and ability to manage the work of junior staff on project teams
  • Strong ability and orientation towards meeting deadlines and managing multiple projects under time pressure
  • Original and creative thinking and superior problem solving abilities
  • People management skills – Managing teams in a matrix reporting environment
  • Good oral and written communication skills a must for this role
  • Should have strong project management experience demonstrating the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously
