Position: Development Manager

CANDIDATE RESPONSIBILITIES

The Development Manager is an experienced hands-on and dynamic leader responsible for overall application development and product delivery of next generation web based application. The IT Development Manager will be responsible for recruiting, staffing, and program management of the development through all phases of SDLC from specification to release.

The qualified candidate will be leading a team that design and develop a large-scale Web-based platform built using Java / JavaEE technologies. The ideal candidate will have both technical and team leadership experience in an Agile development environment. He/she should have developed complex, Web-based, client-facing and enterprise scale application solutions using Java/JavaEE and Spring framework and other related open source technologies. Strong expertise in JAVA is required. We are seeking a highly motivated individual who has successfully built new products through teams and has built best practice processes in other organizations.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Lead and manage complex development projects through full product development cycle
  • Commitment to organizing projects and delivering quality releases on schedule
  • Provide technical leadership to the team and work closely with other senior members within the team
  • Desire to continue hands-on software development
  • Set technical direction, make design decisions, and establish quality standards
  • Regularly evaluate and provide feedback to developers
  • Ability to apply the right amount of process at the right stage for rapid development
  • Manage and motivate software development teams across diverse technical background

TECHNICAL SKILLS

  • 10 years of hands-on experience in web application and core Java.
  • Hands-on experience in JAVA, Spring, MySQL or SQL Server or Mango DB or Spark and knowledge of indexing frameworks like Solr or Elasticsearch is a plus.
  • Strong understanding of OOPS principles and design best practices
  • Hands on experience in Web Development is mandatory
  • Strong Knowledge of application architecture and design principles
  • Demonstrate strong knowledge in designing complex web based applications
  • Ability to meet deadlines while overseeing multiple development projects – must be detailed and organized
  • Highly self-motivated, energetic, proactive and results-oriented
  • Experience in organizing projects and delivering quality releases on schedule
  • A proven track record of hiring and developing software engineers to become high performance teams
  • Experience in building and leading software development of complex web applications
  • Experience in an Agile development environment with strong source management best practices is a must

EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS

  • B.S. in a Computer Science, Information Systems related degree, or significant related professional experience
  • Overall 10 years of experience in IT
  • 3 years in an Managerial role
  • Excellent communications skills interacting with technical and business audiences
  • Proven track record of developing software design architectures
  • Proven track record of delivering web-based applications to corporate customers as well as mass customers
  • Experience with Test Driven Development (TDD) is a plus
