CBSSports.com is looking for an experienced Senior Software Engineer for our Data and Feeds API development team.

The ideal candidate will have experience writing high volume APIs and architecting solid technical solutions to meet challenging issues. As part of the Data and Feeds team you will work with talented developers designing and building out system enhancements and integrations supporting the latest and greatest website for sports on the internet. To be successful at this job, you need to bring a winning attitude, innovative coding skills and proven teamwork experience.

Qualifications:

3-5 years JAVA (Spring Framework) and node.js experience (ES6 preferred). Coffeescript a plus.

Experience designing, implementing, and supporting high performance API systems.

Ability to understand and troubleshoot applications in a production environment (understanding of underlying I/O, memory, cpu, networking, etc)

Experience with NoSQL databases. MongoDB preferred.

Experience with Cloud Technologies/Virtualization (i.e. Amazon AWS)

In-depth understanding of relational databases (MySQL preferred) and database design.

Expertise in highly available systems, horizontal scaling and load balancing.

Strong grasp of the SDLC including CI build process and products (Atlassian a plus).

Excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills. Experience presenting ideas and design to small groups.

Excellent understanding of Object Oriented Programming and Design.

Experience writing APIs (preferably RESTful) with a strong understanding of caching layers and high throughput of 100 req/sec or more.

Experience with AMQP Protocol (e.g. RabbitMQ).

Linux/Unix OS systems administration experience, preferred

BS degree in Computer Science or related field or equivalent practical experience.

Must successfully pass a background check
