Description:

CBSN, CBS News’ 24-hour streaming news platform, is seeking a documentary editor for its longform documentary series, CBSN Originals.

The ideal candidate will be an experienced video editor with a strong background in longform storytelling, excellent news judgment and a proven track record in crafting and shaping stories through the use of video, graphics and text.

The editor must have strong editorial sensibilities and work independently as needed, but also must be able to work with a team in a newsroom setting.

Qualifications:

Bachelor’s degree

At least 5-6 years experience in documentary or long form news programming in cable, broadcast or digital.

Must be able to work in fast-paced environment, deal with intense deadline pressure.

Strong communication skills.

Must be able to work flexible hours and weekends.

Must successfully pass a background check

In addition, CBS will be guided by applicable federal, state and local laws when considering for employment qualified applicants with criminal histories.
