Description:

Leads one or more production teams in the creative development, production and preparation shows, VOD and Feature.

Determines and maintains the “creative vision” of assigned productions and features.

Ensures compelling user experiences and ensure video content relates to editorial pieces.

Ensures the selection of content and highlights are consistent with our viewer trends by using the Omniture reporting tool to drive content to where the audience is while applying sounds editorial judgment.

Fully understand the technical process in which our content is delivered to our fans and have the ability to provide guidance and solutions to problems.

Evaluates staff to effectively assign work to the team – motivate staff to produce at the highest level.

Manages production resources, assets and staff.

Works with other platforms in terms of companion content, editorial and resource allocation.

Creates and monitors schedules and budgets to ensure timely, current and cost effective production.

Mentors less experienced members of the team.

May be assigned to various original or special projects as the lead producer on features that will accompany a feature article.

Develops content ideas, arranges for video shoots including lighting ENG, selects talent, location and manages thru a budget.

Supports online production teams by conceiving, producing, editing and readying video for online or mobile platforms.

Works with team to determine video needs.

Oversees or participating in in-house post-production activities.

Ensures that video is prepared for integration into site content by digitizing video data into appropriate computer file formats and by performing other specialized video digitizing and capture.

Identifies and uses emerging technologies for media and development.

Analysis and Problem Solving / Decision Making:

Accountable for the full scope of technical, content and cost / benefit decisions for assigned digital media productions.

Assigned to various projects and units within the group i.e. newsroom or original production that requires the application of independent judgment and leadership.

Work is subject to regular supervisory review at defined milestones.

Must have the ability to understand the structure but creatively overcome resource and technical barriers.

Demonstrates proficiency in most areas of the professional function and in-depth specialization in some.

Proactively anticipate issues that may occur and provide timely solutions.

Communication / Interaction:

Implements activities that generally impact important components / processes of the work of own unit / team / projects.

Interacts with internal and external peers and managers to exchange complex information related to areas of specialization and content.

Works with all levels of management and areas of the company to ensure compliance with rights structure and provide promotional push for initiatives.

May negotiate to acquire digital media content, concepts and designs.

Works with engineering to enhance features and technology relating the video on mweb, desktop, app and OTT digital platforms.

Qualifications:

At least 7 years of progressively complex related digital media, studio or relation production experience.

Undergraduate College Degree in Communications with emphasis on Digital Media production preferred.

Strong knowledge of digital video production related techniques and on-line content management systems.

Has an established ability to create and write compelling sports news stories; generates and executes story ideas, from concept to execution.

Has established mastery of the sports production processes and the ability to produce assigned sports segments.

Has strong knowledge of real-time sports productions and graphics.

Has established currency regarding technological advances video editing and basic graphics.

Has excellent production skills related to sporting events.

Has solid appreciation of popular culture, e.g., “what’s cool” and assists with defining the tastes of CBS’ viewers.

Has a good understanding of market positioning within the digital space and strategies.

Has solid knowledge of sports.

Some travel may be required.

Must successfully pass a background check.
