The Director of Data & Monetization for CBS Sports Digital will explore, identify, analyze and structure business development opportunities across multiple platforms with targeted sports teams and content rights holders. This role will serve to enhance and diversify revenue streams, broaden content offerings and distribution and expand CBS’s businesses. A deep understanding of the overall digital media landscape and emerging trends, with a foundation in business analysis is critical for success.
Develop and qualify new business contacts within the following areas to expand the current portfolio:
o Targeted elite colleges and conferences
o Professional Leagues
o Rights holders
o Continued linear/digital collaboration with CBS broadcast and cable networks
Create new partnership opportunities for potential revenue growth and audience development with the following:
o Ecommerce and ticketing partnerships
o Virtual reality
o National brands and sponsorship/sales ideation
Assist in development of go-to-market plans for GameTracker (college, high school, professional, eSports) and StatCrew API Distribution Partnerships.
Collaborate on the strategy and acquisition of video content for College Sports Live and CBSSports.com
Expand the TrainerPass platform into other potential verticals
Leverage podcast and on-demand audio distribution and monetization across all CBS verticals including official partner content.
Create, implement and own a partnership pipeline with regular reporting to senior management.
Work closely with senior management, product, creative, finance, and legal teams to structure and negotiate optimal deal terms.
Provide in-depth strategic and economic analysis of potential deals, partnerships, and industry trends.
Conduct regular analysis in key areas for emerging business growth such as virtual reality, mobile application/location-based services, iBeacon technology, infographics and new social media platforms.
Manage the following Data & Monetization business units within CBSi Advanced Media: Advertising Operations (and liaison to Director of Sales), Ecommerce and Business Development
Work in parallel with General Manager to successfully achieve StatCrew business strategy with key focus on data monetization.
A seasoned business developer with experience working in strategy roles and the ability to identify prospects, generate a robust pipeline, land quality meetings and negotiate deal terms.
Expert at building and maintaining long-standing sports and media industry relationships to grow the business. The ideal candidate will bring with them a range of sports industry-related contacts and technology network to jump-start new partnerships.
Team player able to collaborate across divisions in deal development, oversee multiple projects and proposals at once, work with key stakeholders, manage customer relationships and respond to client inquiries.
Self-starter with excellent presentation skills and a strong knowledge of digital media concepts and technology solutions.
Strategy-focused individual able to present the brand and product offerings within the digital video, distribution, social media and tech development space with intelligence and conviction.
Lead with analytics and insights to help guide development decisions and manage client performance.
Must successfully pass a background check.
