The Sr. Solution Architect is responsible for quickly and positively impacting the customer's real and perceived value of a relationship with CA by driving the resolution of complex architecture issues for customers with solutions (integrated, productized) in collaboration with other experts within the various organizations of the Company by defining and updating the necessary architecture requirements. This will enable the successful creation of an overall architecture which will meet the demands of the customer.

Responsibilities of a Sr. Solution Architect:

  • Provide technical expertise in the diagnosis and resolution of the customer's complex architectural and design issues in collaboration with other experts within the various organizations of the Company.
  • Understand both the technology and business objectives of our customers to enable the successful creation of an architecture which fulfills the business requirements of the customer.
  • Provide onsite assistance while shadowing Principal Solution Architect and /or SWAT.
  • Assess the customer's current infrastructure, business requirements, budget and implementation of the solution.
  • Perceived by the customer as being both customer centric and solutions oriented, bringing tangible value in terms of knowledge and expertise
  • Provide business insight and technical expertise to the customer.
  • Incorporate best practices into the architecture required to run the solution based on the customer's business requirements.
  • Understand how 3rd party applications will impact solutions and incorporate those concerns into the architecture.
  • Create and update high-quality architecture and detailed documents based on requirements to resolve the customer's issue(s) with minimal input from the Sr. Principal Solution Architect.
  • Present the revised architecture to the customer both in person, and in written documentation.
  • Act as subject matter expert for a variety of solutions with detailed knowledge of product architecture and product integration.
  • Serve as spokesperson on advanced projects and/or programs.
  • Act as a mentor to Solution Architects assigned as part of the project team to resolve the customer architecture issue.
  • Contribute to forum groups, green books and white papers as a reviewer and author.

Preferred Education

Bachelor's degree or global equivalent in Computer Science or a related degree.

Work Experience

Typically 10 years of IT architecture and industry-related experience as well as a detailed technical knowledge within the disciplines of Enterprise IT Management including technical expertise in operating systems, firewalls, load balancers, network analysis and database analysis with onsite customer experience. Proficient with the Company's solutions and excellent business knowledge is required to resolve integration and architecture issues; achieving this status level requires superior business acumen and ability to execute. A consulting background including client management, problem solving, crisis management, mediation amongst third parties and meeting facilitation is preferred.

  • Be a recognized Subject Matter Expert for a particular solution and knowledgeable of integrated solutions
  • Proven ability to troubleshoot products and solutions
  • Strong technical knowledge across the industry and awareness of industry future direction û and able to identify the implications on customers
  • Able to communicate the cross-functional value propositions within our aggregate portfolio of solutions
  • Able to understand complex technical problems and provide solutions which are highly innovative and ingenious û and enable customers to do the same

Certifications

Current certification in CCIE, MCSE, CISSP, SNIA, ITIL, ITIAM as well as various CA certifications is preferred.
