About the Director, Digital Sales:

In this role, you’ll help support CA Technologies charter to transform the IT industry by:

  • Possess competency in overall sales and application of the company’s strategy.
  • Lead, create, maintain and execute a sales business plan with goals and objectives, based on opportunity and the company’s strategic direction.
  • Review regular pipeline forecasts and business health checks to senior sales management.
  • Review weekly, monthly, quarterly, and annual performance against targets.
  • Provide management with detailed and accurate team progress reports.
  • Hire, develop and retain talent.
  • Support the overall development plan of the team, including:
  • coach and monitor staff.
  • review productivity level of Inside Sales teams.
  • ensure proper training activities (product, sales, and process)
  • review and determine team and individual goals.
  • Ensure resources are available to support timely and successful campaigns and phone coverage.
  • Ensure collaboration with virtual team members to plan, coordinate, and develop strategies to achieve team goals.
  • Ensure communication between various organizations to ensure teamwork.
  • Attend product, sales, management training classes; provide input into course development.
  • Foster communication between various organizations to ensure teamwork.
  • Maintain appropriate solutions, services, and industry positioning knowledge.
  • Maintain a positive, professional “total customer service” attitude throughout the team.
  • Ensure effective time management practices to properly support organizational activities.
  • Ensure the team stays informed on the approaches, research best practices within and outside the organization, establish benchmarks, and use continuous process improvement and process framework disciplines to achieve results.
  • Ensure team activities are aligned with CA’s financial, strategic, and operating objectives
  • Understand and communicate organizational challenges and strategies; understand and communicate the long-term view of the possibilities to shape the future for CA’s transformational opportunities.
  • Implement an Inside Sales strategy based on direction from senior management.
  • Ensure team activities are planned and executed in alignment with the desired outcomes.
  • Ensure effective resource planning and utilization within the team.
  • Develop and manage departmental operating expense and capital budgets.
  • Possess leadership competencies necessary to motivate teams to attain their goals.
  • Consistently reinforce the importance of the company’s Core Values.

The perfect candidate for this role will have a demonstrated record of success in positions of increasing responsibility over the course of their career. An ideal background will include:

  • 10+ years of experience with of Digital or Inside Sales experience, of which 5 years are in Inside Sales supervisory position with proven results.
  • Thorough understanding of knowledge and the skills necessary to solve full range of day-to-day management problems.
  • Strong interviewing, meeting facilitation and customer service skills.
  • Problem resolution skills, presentation and computer skills
  • Leadership skills to mobilize and empower teams to achieve.
  • Strategic planning capabilities and knowledge of operational strategy and planning.
  • Strong communication and relationship building skills.
  • Demonstrated teamwork skills and developing facilitation and negotiation skills.
  • Change initiatives concepts and best practices.
  • Coach, develop and motivate teams. Lead by example.
  • Lead multi-disciplinary, multi-cultural teams.
  • Base decisions on analysis and assessment of facts.
  • Understand the long-term (“big picture”) and short team perspective situations.
  • Strong influencing and negotiating skills and an understanding of department strategies and services, resolve conflicts and influence outcomes on non-routine matters for the division with some management assistance.
  • Strong analytical skills and ability to quickly comprehend the functions and capabilities of new Inside Sales approaches.

  • Strong ability to prioritize, assign, monitor, and control the activities of the team.
  • Understand of financial budgets, forecasts, and variance analysis.
