Specialist II - General Ledger Accounting

Position Description

The GL Accounting Specialist II plays a key role in ensuring accuracy of the company's financial results through the reconciliation of various balance sheet accounts, including the necessary research, analysis, and partnership to resolve the reconciling items, as well as the completion of standard recurring journal entries to the general ledger. This position also supports the Accounting Analysts in the resolution of ad hoc business related requests and issues as needed during the monthly close and reconciliation process.

  • Ensure accuracy of various balance sheet accounts through the performance of account reconciliations, including the necessary research, analysis, and resolution of reconciling items
  • Perform basic accounting functions, including preparation of recurring monthly journal entries using support provided by business partners and system queries
  • With heavy guidance from other team members, provide assistance in the resolution of ad hoc business related issues and inquiries
  • Take ownership of personal development through active participation in desk and competency reviews, as well as completion of an independent development plan
  • Participate in team, Accounting/Finance, and Company-wide meetings

  • Minimum of 3+ years of business experience, including 1+ years of accounting, finance or related experience required (i.e bookkeeping, cash management, office management)
  • Account reconciliation experience required
  • Intermediate level of Microsoft Excel required (i.e. Filtering, VLookups, Subtotals, Shortcuts); basic level of MS Access preferred
  • High school diploma or equivalent
