Salesforce DevOps Manager

Position Description

The Salesforce DevOps Manager is responsible for the quality and enhancement of the shared platforms that support CarMax CORE Systems built on top of the Salesforce ecosystem. This role works closely with Product Teams to empower and enable developers with the shared resources needed to deliver real value to CarMax customers and help facilitate continuous innovation. Key focus areas for the Salesforce DevOps Manager are cloud platform management, ISV apps & custom built solutions on top of, API & integration management.

The Salesforce DevOps Manager will lead a team of software developers and business analysts to maximize the relevance, quality, and performance of our shared platforms. The role will place a high value on lean agile practices, process and test automation, metric driven optimization, and platform quality. The Salesforce Platform Team collaborates with members of CORE Operations, App Exchange partners, CORE & Value stream Product, Quality Assurance, Infrastructure, and Security Teams to architect, monitor, and support the platforms that enable CarMax's online products.

Position Requirements

  • Responsible for the reliability and availability of the core platform services & applications built on top of the core platform
  • Manage issue resolution process for any application production problems on the core platform
  • Coordinates with the Salesforce CoE team members, product and delivery teams, support organizations like Operations / Infrastructure, ISVs and other operational teams
  • Proactive application and services management, delivering continuous application or process improvement and root cause elimination of problems
  • Manage issue resolution process for any Salesforce platform production problems.
  • Manage baseline platform budget and evaluating ROI
  • Interact with the platform and product delivery teams to understand and prioritize demand and suggest enhancements
  • Seek ways to reduce application and services related costs and increase efficiencies of applications in production
  • Execute / enforce controls for business continuity testing
  • Ensure appropriate production processes and quality metrics are in place for the application, platform, and service
  • Manage the end-to-end change control function, oversee vendor relationships, and maintain SLAs at an application / platform level
  • Responsible for BCP, contingency, test and audit activities related to the enterprise standards
  • Inform functional and IT teams of status, issues and resolutions to support and BAU efforts
  • Maintains knowledge of Salesforce product suites as well as competitive products, with special attention to integration with diverse platforms

  • Manage initiatives through prioritizing, analyzing ROI, providing analytics, and ensuring the execution of methodology milestones
  • Manage a team of direct and indirect reports with diverse functional knowledge.

  • 4 year IT related degree, preferred
  • 3+ years of team management experience, required
  • 3+ years of experience required leading software projects leveraging Agile practices, required
  • 3+ years of experience on Salesforce platform, preferred not required
