The Analyst II (Application Infrastructure) is responsible for analyzing requests and the development of the appropriate infrastructure solutions based on technical and business specifications. This person provides critical production support and guidance for infrastructure or application issues and is responsible for monitoring and maintenance of existing infrastructure to ensure smooth operations. This Engineer partners with other members of the IT and product community in order to successfully complete assignments.

The Day to Day

•Maintains the health of environment through monitoring and analytics
•Responds to performance issues identified by alerting and reported incidents
•Triages problems utilizing advanced tool sets
•Automates frequent operational activities and tasks
•Works with 3rd parties to implement shared services
•Participates in a 24x7 on-call rotation as scheduled and must perform after hours' support
•Executes configuration requests from developers and product teams
•Works with Developers to execute software releases, configuration updates, and other release requirements
•Tactical project work as assigned

•Recognizes and steers the support tasks to the appropriate team
•Influence the technical direction of others in order to successfully meet business objectives

Position Requirements

To perform this position successfully, an individual must be able to consistently execute each essential duty & responsibility as well as consistently show proficiency with the following qualifications.
•Ability to balance support, operational, and tactical initiatives.
•Ability to successfully complete small to medium sized projects
•Knowledge of software development concepts and techniques
•Demonstrated ability to effectively work with the business community to gather requirements and translate those requirements into solutions
•Ability to compare and contrast alternative approaches to meet objectives while assessing risk both quantitatively and qualitatively
•Effectively manage the tasks for multiple initiatives and report upon their status and task timing

•IIS and Windows server configuration and troubleshooting
•PowerShell scripting
•Cloud services
•Enterprise monitoring tools

And here are the nice to haves:
•Good understanding of Infrastructure technologies (Load Balancing, AD, Security, Clustering)
•Currently supporting a complex, external facing website with full understanding of all its functional pieces
Complex SQL queries and data manipulation

•Splunk, AppDynamics, AppInsights Tools
•Microsoft MSMQ
•Windows 2012 / 2016
•Automating system builds
•Development build and deployment pipelines
•Content Delivery (Akamai)

Education and/or Experience:
Years of experience
3-5 years of application infrastructure, IIS Administration, Powershell scripting, etc.
Education preference
4-year degree in IT related course of study or equivalent experience
Computer skills
3-5 years troubleshooting skills in Windows Operating Systems, Internet protocols and
database structures, HTTP, security, mixed environment (on-prem/cloud).
