Senior Manager, Pricing and Analytics

The CarGurus Product Management team is looking for a Senior Manager of Pricing and Analytics with strong strategic thinking capabilities, business acumen and technical skills to spearhead pricing strategies and data analysis projects that support the overall product and business strategy. Candidates should be comfortable working across diverse stakeholder groups including C-level executives, sales teams, marketing teams, engineering teams and data analysts. The candidate should enjoy operating at a strategic level, digging into complex quantitative and qualitative analyses, but also take pride to operationalize those solutions. He/she should have a high level of intellectual curiosity and be proficient in developing business insights and turning them into business recommendations. Ideally, the candidate will have had experience developing and enhancing B2B and B2C products. This is a new position that will be part of the new and growing Revenue Optimization and Analytics team.  

Key Responsibilities:

  • Be a thought leader on pricing - Work with the product, engineering, marketing, sales, and finance teams to conceptualize and research pricing strategies
  • Identify opportunities to accelerate revenue growth and build tools to analyze and test new pricing techniques to understand dealer and consumer price sensitivity
  • Work with product and engineering to develop new products including pricing approaches as we add new features and enter new markets
  • Develop a system for monitoring and managing pricing integrity and the financial health of our products and markets
  • Become an expert on various B2B and B2C pricing models
  • Work with engineering and a cross-functional group of leaders to develop and implement an organizational data and analytics roadmap
  • Work with engineering, finance, sales and sales operations to operationalize solutions (turn ideas into action)
  • Lead teams in creating business intelligence dashboards and data visualization tools to track product performance and cross-functional business objectives
  • Perform ad hoc product and customer analysis


  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent required; MBA preferred
  • 7+ years of experience, preferably including consulting, investment banking and/or private equity experience
  • Experience in pricing
  • Strong leadership capabilities and proven ability to bring together diverse stakeholder groups
  • Knowledge of SQL preferred 
  • Working knowledge of various data analysis and reporting tools and comfort in getting up to speed on new tools (e.g. Looker, Tableau, or similar business intelligence tools)
  • Familiarity with web and mobile analytics datasets and A/B testing methodologies
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Knowledge and background in pricing, product management, marketing, strategy or related industry a plus
