Business Development Manager - UK

The UK Business Development Manager will be responsible for leading all business development activities for CarGurus in the UK. This is a tremendous opportunity to be one of the first CarGurus leaders on the ground and a strategic catalyst for CarGurus business growth in the UK. You will play a pivotal roll in growing CarGurus presence in the UK by executing, maintain, and growing strategic partnerships to support the successful implementation of CarGurus UK business plan.

Specifically:

  • Maximize and grow existing partnerships with UK’s leading third party car dealer stock syndication providers
  • Identify, negotiate, and close new stock syndication partnerships to continue adding new sources of stock to the CarGurus.co.uk website
  • Initiate, negotiate, and cultivate partnerships with car manufacturers to grow inventory and co-marketing programs
  • Work closely with Ireland based UK inside sales teams to provide on the ground support with UK partners
  • Conduct market research to identify high potential new partner candidates in UK and possibly other countries in Europe
  • Develop/execute strategies for cultivating new relationships that benefit CarGurus through access to vehicle inventory, valuable data sets and additional sources of revenue
  • Collaborate closely with the CarGurus sales, engineering and marketing teams to solicit input, resolve issues and push projects forward
  • Help drive senior leadership’s decision making on the next generation of products that will lead to continued growth and profitability for the business
  • Represent CarGurus at industry events and trade shows

Qualifications: 

  • Bachelor’s degree
  • 3-5 years of professional work experience desired
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills required
  • Ability to manage projects of varying size and scope simultaneously while prioritizing appropriately
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills and presentation experience
  • Tenacious self-starter with the ability to work independently
  • Ability to effectively liaison with internal teams
  • Outstanding collaboration skills. Experience working with senior leaders in cross-functional business units (engineering, product, marketing, business development, sales) to innovate quickly and effectively build operating plans to scale growth
  • Extremely high-energy, positive attitude and relationship-building ability
  • Team player, partner in cross-functional organizations
  • Entrepreneurial, self-starter comfortable managing self-directed projects
  • Outstanding communication ability to present findings and business plans to cross-functional colleagues and senior management
  • Multi Lingual, fluent in German, French, Italian, or Spanish is greatly desired
  • Able to work from home
