Technology Development Program Intern - Thomas Jefferson High School (Alexandria, Virginia)

We recruit for three technical roles within our Technology Internship Program:
Software Engineer
- Chart the digital frontier in one of our Mobile (Native), Web, or API development
- Develop your skills in a variety of languages and frameworks including: Java/Spring, .Net, JavaScript, AngularJS, Python, Go and Swift in the cloud and on devices.
Data Engineer
- Build out our analytic capabilities using modern data technologies
- Deploy robust data products and services, as well as, enable rich visualization, data exploratory, and machine learning capabilities. Use open source technologies (Hadoop/MapReduce, Spark, Kafka, Pig, Python, NoSQL databases, etc.) and deploy applications in the cloud (AWS, Azure)
Cyber Security Engineer
- Support cyber security monitoring and response capabilities to thwart attacks on Capital One
- Grow your skills in several areas including security operations, malware analysis and emerging security solutions to protect and empower the Capital One workforce

Basic Qualifications
- Current student or alumni of Thomas Jefferson High School for Science and Technology
- Will graduate from Thomas Jefferson High School for Science and Technology in June 2017
Preferred Qualifications:
- In process of obtaining a Bachelors Degree or higher in a technical and/or quantitative discipline, including computer science, computer engineering, information systems, information technology, and mathematics
- Strong analytical, quantitative, problem solving and conceptual skills
- Strong interpersonal, leadership and communication skills
- Intermediate to advanced programming skills or experience in one or more of the following areas: Java, .net, asp.net, PHP, Python, Objective C, C#, C/C++, Perl, XML, JSON, UML, JavaScript, Visual Basic, HTML, SQL, PL/SQL, Shell scripts
