Job Description
Crisis Management - Senior Risk Associate

As part of the larger Business Continuity Team, the Crisis Management Program provides direction for overall command and control for incidents that threaten or impact Capital One's business operations. The Crisis Management Program is the mechanism by which the company responds to and recovers from crisis situations.

We are seeking a highly-motivated individual to lead initiatives involving Capital One's Crisis Management Program overarching framework, plans, policies, and processes. This Senior Risk Associate role will have the opportunity to apply project & process management, strategic, and analytical skills to some of our highest profile crisis management incidents. This Senior Risk Associate will have the opportunity to work with business partners across lines of business.

  • Close collaboration with key business areas to facilitate preparedness, response, and recovery efforts
  • Emergency notification system process management, enhancements, and oversight
  • Crisis response training and education of relevant stakeholders including Local Incident Response Teams
  • Facilitate exercises at various levels within the organization with the purpose of identifying and closing critical gaps/weaknesses
  • Maintain a state of awareness by remaining current on local, national and international events that could potentially impact business operations, associates and customers
  • Drive resolution of issues & actions resulting from Crisis Incidents/Events
  • Identify process enhancements within the Crisis Mgmt Framework, including templates, tools, and other guidance to evolve the program
  • Escalate and report highly sensitive matters to Crisis Mgmt Program leadership as appropriate
  • Day-to-day oversight of multiple processes: monitor, report, and plan process improvement or redesign initiatives
  • Actively participate in team oriented efforts
  • Collaborate on larger initiatives, including representing department on broader change control forums for input and to represent department interests

Basic Qualifications
  • Bachelors Degree or military experience
  • At least 1 years of all-hazards crisis management experience in the areas of planning, training or response and recovery
  • At least 2 years of experience in Project Management, Business Process Management or Risk Management
  • At least 1 year of experience working with regulatory operations requirements

Preferred Qualifications
  • 3 years of developing and facilitating crisis management exercises
  • 3 years of experience in incident response and recovery operations
  • Experience with Emergency Notification systems, particularly OnSolve MIR3
  • Industry certification in Crisis Management
