Sr. Manager, Lead System Integrator (Finance Technology)

The Senior Manager - Lead System Integrator will be responsible for managing resources, implementation, customization and support of new and current data movement procedures across agile teams that support multiple Corporate Finance and Line of Business objectives and applications. This role will provide a team of development resources with leadership, design specifications, and ensure completeness of design, while learning, coding and managing a vast array of quickly changing technologies. They will also have responsibility to document design decisions, adhere to existing process guidelines, adhere to audit guidelines, interact with the LOB tech teams, support testing activities, and conduct oversight during release into production/warranty periods.


  • Directly people manage both associates and non-associates over multiple Agile teams.
  • Lead multiple development teams to define high level design / detail design activities and delivery for multiple data solutions.
  • Monitor the quality and completeness of design/development work across a broad array of performers.
  • Lead and manage data movement and transformation resources across technologies that include PL/SQL, SQOOP, SCALA, JAVA, AbInitio, Spark, Python and others.
  • Manage team that enables data movement interfaces in production, troubleshoot incidents, ensuring root-cause analysis is done and appropriate fixes developed and implemented during the warranty period.
  • Work closely with Liquid Tech team members, multiple customer bases, other Capital One IT organizations, and vendors.
  • Ability to understand Finance and Risk business needs and translate them into effective, cost efficient system solutions and enhancements.
  • Ability to resolve complex technical issues and comfortable working in gray space situations.
  • Comply with Capital One IT standards and processes.

Basic Qualifications:
  • Bachelors Degree or military experience
  • At least 1 year of experience AWS infrastructure knowledge (EMR or S3 or IAM)
  • At least 3 years of experience working in an Agile delivery environment leading teams
  • At least 5 years of experience in ETL Design and Development
  • At least 3 years of experience managing and leading people or teams

Preferred Qualifications:
  • Amazon Web Services (AWS) Architect certification or Developer certification
  • 3+ years experience with DevOps, automated releases and re-hydrations
  • 3+ years prior experience in coding languages (Spark Scala, Ab Initio, Java or similar)
  • 3+ years prior experience with Financial Systems
  • 3+ years prior experience with Fiserv Frontier ReconPlus
  • 3+ years prior experience with Production support
  • 3+ years prior experience in scripting language (Python, Perl or similar)
  • 3+ years prior experience in Cloud-supported data formats (JSON, Parquet, Avro)
