Sr. Manager, Chief of Staff

Seeking a highly-talented associate to serve as a Chief of Staff with strategy & business operational functions within the Conversational AI, Messaging and Content Products organization of Enterprise Digital.

This role will have the opportunity to work with an energized, talented group of product, process and data science/analyst professionals who build and manage many of our customer facing digital touchpoints. The team leads innovative products such as Eno, Capital One's intelligent assistant, our 3rd party conversational interface skills (e.g., Alexa, Cortana), our enterprise emails, SMS and push notifications, in addition to Digital's content management system and robotic process automation tools. This role will interface with other critical Capital One internal partners including: Technology, Design, HR, Finance, Data Science, Recruiting, Supplier Management, Digital Risk, Corporate Strategy, Marketing and PR.

Responsibilities:

This role will partner closely with the Vice President of Conversational AI Products and manage critical business operations within the department; ensuring that we are well managed and stay connected across our diverse teams.

Additionally, this role will be responsible for managing the associate experience across multiple vectors. Our team is geographically dispersed, with large hubs in Richmond, McLean, Plano, San Francisco and New York, and some travel may be required. Based in McLean, the role will have both a business management function while also helping to create cohesive vision & strategy for the organization. The ability to work across teams and geographic locations with strong communication skills will be key.

Job Duties:
  • Lead and manage multiple activities related to our workforce strategy, associate recruiting, headcount management, etc.
  • Assist in the management of VP's leadership team strategy.
  • Partner closely with our Finance teams to ensure that we meet financial commitments and continue to improve our financial management processes.
  • Partner and build relationships cross-functionally with Finance, Reporting & Analysis, Strategy, HR, Communications, and business partners, as well as internal key stakeholders, enabling successful delivery on commitments.
  • Delivering on ad hoc requests to support the Digital Chief of Staff, as needed.
  • Support timely completion of deliverables, including but not limited to PowerPoint presentations, Excel data models, meeting minutes focused on follow up items and identifying accountable parties.
  • Coordinate and execute logistics around team routines and events.
  • Coordinate and actively participate in team strategy sessions
  • Develop, manage and execute various communications plan for internal and external stakeholders.


Basic Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's Degree or military experience
  • At least 3 years of experience in business analysis, project, product or process management with cross-functional teams
  • At least 3 years of experience in Agile Delivery


Preferred Qualifications:
  • 3+ years of experience with digital product management concepts and methodologies
  • 1+ years of experience in communications planning and development, including department communications, leadership team meetings, presentations, memos and reports
  • Knowledge of Capital One's Human Resources and Financial Management processes and procedures
  • MBA and/or strategic consulting background
