Sr. Director, Product - Digital Messaging Platform & Capabilities (Email, SMS, Push)

Despite the continued expansion and proliferation of new digital communication channels, Email continues to be one of the most engaging and effective channels for businesses to connect with customers and prospects. With over 60 million active email addresses, Capital One has the ability to connect with our customers in a personal, direct, and proactive manner. But we don't take that capability lightly. Our messages must be personalized, relevant and timely, making it easier for customers to manage their finances and lives.

Capital One is looking for a platform product leader who shares our vision. This Senior Director role will be responsible for developing and delivering a strategic vision to take an at-scale mission critical messaging platform into the future where messaging is proactive, real-time, interactive and contextual. The platform enables business teams within Capital One to send billions of messages to keep customers apprised of their financial information allowing them to get back to the things they love to do. This leader will have a deep understanding of how platforms deliver value via API interfaces for developers and how to scale platform impact with self-service implementation. This leader will passionately emphasize our internal partners as our customers, and partner with them extensively to build a customer focused strategy and roadmap.

As a part of the Conversational AI and Messaging leadership team, you will have a significant impact in the team building the products and platforms that enable intelligent messaging and assistance across Capital One. You will span strategy, design, and tech, to identify and develop cutting edge technology to power great customer experiences by continuous optimization.

To land this gig, you should have:
  • Deep product development expertise in digital messaging channels such as Email, Text, and Push Notifications
  • Deep understanding of enterprise platforms, APIs, and microservices
  • Exceptional leadership skills and an ability to develop and motivate a large team of product managers
  • Strong analytical abilities to organize and solve for multivariate problems
  • Experience using machine learning techniques to identify and infer complex patterns that create breakthrough innovations
  • Built your deep skill set with several years of digital messaging product management experience

Basic Qualifications:

-Bachelor's Degree or military experience

-At least 8 years building and shipping consumer products and platforms

-At least 5 years of experience managing people

-At least 1 year of Agile Product Management experience
