Sr. Associate, Team Lead -Loan Operations. Melville, NY

The Commercial Loan Operations team (CLO) supports a total loan portfolio of $110BN and provides ongoing support for the life of the loan. The organization focuses on delivering scale and efficiency, nailing operational risk, providing a beautiful client experience and enabling talented associates to excel. The team is currently searching for a Team Lead in this space.
Job Description & Ideal Candidate:
The Member Servicing team works on a portfolio where Capital One is a member/participant in a syndicated loan. They handle day-to-day loan activity and maintenance, and serve as a liaison between internal stakeholders and Agent banks. The role includes analytical components related to various loan/fee accruals and calculations, as well as ongoing reconciliation and remediation. Great communication skills and product knowledge is also critical to success in order to clearly convey complex concepts and issues to people with varying levels of product knowledge. The Team Lead will be able to to work collaboratively among stakeholders and help facilitate ongoing change management.
This individual's responsibilities will include:
- Manage a team of loan service associates
- Control and manage risk for a large portfolio of active facilities
- Approve transactions processed by the team and ensure accuracy of team's daily work in accordance with all procedures and corporate policies
- Manage quality reports and ensure associates are remaining diligent in the follow-ups of all reporting
- Ensure quality of loan transactions. This includes: draw downs, pay downs, interest payments, interest and exchange rate fixing, manual interest and fee calculations and billing and payoffs
- Work closely with respective business units and other internal partners to align needs and provide support as needed
- Work with internal tech teams to develop enhancements or new products to support the team
- Work with external vendors that support the team's functions and hold them accountable for their quality
- Perform manual loan tracking enhancements, cash breaks analysis, reconciliations of interest fees and letters of credit, and comprehensive testing of system enhancements
- Review of, and extraction from, legal documents for compliance, interpretation and operational viability and support
- Develop, design, and implement inter-departmental controls and risk reducing processes with the primary goal of maintaining accurate books and records
- Support team issues by being able to respond/escalate to operations leadership, resolving, and expediting inquiries, discrepancies, and special requests
- Communicate with Agent Banks and senior internal business partners
- Prepare and submit periodic (daily and above) departmental and team reports and metrics
- Establish and maintain customer satisfaction
Basic Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree or military experience
- At least 1 year of bank operations experience
Preferred Qualifications:
- At least 3 years of loan servicing, booking, or closing experience
- At least 2 years of syndication product experience
- At least 2 years of ACBS experience
- At least 1 year of experience as a team lead or people manager
